The Necklet began with one non-negotiable: it had to disappear into the coat. The 2mm top-grain leather cord has a smooth, non-woven surface, without textile fibres that can fluff or roughen with wear.

It keeps the back of the neck quiet, so your hand can travel from head to back without meeting the bulk of a conventional collar. Because something made to express your bond should never interrupt it.

Designed to let go

Graceful enough to stay. Ready enough to let go.

Safety was the design boundary we would not move.

Cats move through the world in different ways. Some stay close to the sunny corner; others climb, dash and investigate everything. The Necklet had to respect both.

After testing different forms and materials—and studying more than 1,000 product reviews—we chose a tiny metal clasp inspired by pearl jewellery. Its targeted release range is 1.5–2kg, and repeated fastening is designed to keep the same feel over time. At only 3mm in diameter, it stays discreet under your hand.

It can let go when force demands it, then return to its quiet elegance when the moment is safe.

We place that name across the front of the leather, ready to be seen whenever they lift their head. Your contact details sit quietly on the reverse, there for the just-in-case without adding a dangling name tag or another piece of hardware.

Personalisation is included at no extra cost. It is not a decorative afterthought—it is part of what the Necklet was designed to carry. Keep their microchip details current too; the engraving is an additional point of identification, not a replacement.

Vegetable-tanned leather

A material that learns their life.

Light enough for today. Made to grow more beautiful with time.

The chest piece is cut from the same category of vegetable-tanned leather used in fine leather goods—not for the language of luxury, but for the way it endures.

It carries a name without needing a heavy tag. Instead of fraying like woven fabric, the surface develops a patina: handling and the natural oils of daily life gradually make it smoother, deeper and more distinctly theirs.

No two pieces will age in exactly the same way. Like your life together, its character is made slowly.

Is this a collar or jewellery? +

It is a lightweight cat necklet: a feline accessory with a breakaway base. It is not a walking collar, restraint or scaled-down human necklace.

How light is the Necklet? +

The product target is under 10g. The confirmed range for this production batch must be published before orders open.

How does the breakaway structure work? +

The small metal hardware is designed around a 1.5–2kg release target. It is meant to let go under sufficient force, so the Necklet can come off and be lost. Release can vary with angle, wear and the individual piece; breakaway hardware cannot guarantee prevention of injury.

How do I choose the right size? +

Measure where the necklet will naturally sit with a soft tape and comfortable room. Use actual neck circumference first; breed and weight are supporting information only.

What if my cat is between sizes? +

Pause before ordering and contact us with the neck measurement, weight, coat length and a side photo. We will help within one working day and may recommend waiting for another size.

What if my cat keeps scratching or tries to remove it? +

Remove the necklet if scratching or removal attempts continue. Recheck the fit and inspect the skin and fur. Some cats may prefer not to wear anything, and we may recommend stopping.

Can my cat wear it outdoors or unattended? +

Begin only with supervised indoor use. Confirm the final outdoor and unattended-use guidance from batch testing before launch; cats who frequently climb outdoors unsupervised may not be suitable.

Can I personalise the necklet? +

Yes. Enter your little buddy’s name and your contact information in the Personalise fields before adding the Necklet to bag.

Can I return a personalised order? +

Personalised pieces cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Contact Support if an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly made or incorrectly personalised by Amulcat.

How long will my order take to make and ship? +

Every order is personalised and prepared in small batches. We dispatch within 2–4 business days after payment is confirmed. Estimated tracked delivery within Australia is 7–15 business days after dispatch. Standard tracked shipping is free for orders of A$60 or more; rates below A$60 are shown at checkout.

Is the Necklet part of a founding set offer? +

Yes. The founding launch set is A$60 and includes the Necklet plus one removable Second Only natural-stone charm.

What if the hardware connection fails? +

Remove the piece immediately, keep all parts away from your cat, and contact us with photos and the batch number. We will assess the product and explain replacement, refund and any recall steps that apply.
